Afikoman Hunt: The 2025 Edition!
Happy Passover! Below is an activity you can use for a multi-part, fully-digital Afikoman hunt. The afikoman hunt is a beloved part of the seder that involves searching for hidden matzah. Some might think that you can’t pull it off in Zoom-Seders, but we can!
Instructions for people doing the activity are included at the bottom of the word-search above. You’ll know you’ve found the Afikoman when you reach a web-page featuring a “You found the Afikoman” video!
LOGISTICS: If you’re doing this activity at an “on the ground” Seder — just print off enough copies for every Seder participant. You can have them work in teams if you’d like!
If you’re doing this activity at a digital Seder (in Zoom or other video-chat platform), you have two options for how to do this activity:
1. Send out the word-search in advance and ask each of your seder participants to print the word-search. An easily-printable version can be accessed by clicking here! All participants can race to complete the activity with pen and paper (and then by finding the afikoman at its hidden address).
2. OR: Separate your seder into Zoom breakout rooms (each breakout room will be a team). One person in each breakout room should share their screen. Using Zoom’s “annotate” function (make sure this is enabled for all participants), teams can together highlight the words in the word search, and then work together to unscramble the relevant letters.
