Shabbat Unbound Resources
Shabbat Unbound is a Friday-night service that takes 12 months to complete! So why does it take so long? Because each month of Shabbat Unbound, we don’t want to just shuttle quickly through a ton of liturgy. Instead, we to connect as deeply as possible to just one core prayer for the month — called our ikar (meaning “essence” or “core” in Hebrew). To help you do that, we provide links to a wide variety of translations, essays about the prayer, details about its authorship and history, and (when applicable) ways in which it has been referenced in popular culture.
