How does the chevruta/study partner promotion work?

Applies to Fall 2022 Long Courses

Jewish texts have long celebrated the idea of learning with a friend – in fact, the Aramaic term for a study partner is “hevruta,” which means “friend.” And we are excited about the power of learning to build friendship and community. All of which is why we thought it would be a cool experiment to invite all UnYeshiva students to bring a friend to learn with.

And if your friend can’t make it to class when it’s live, they can watch the videos of the class (available to registered students only, posted within a day after the live class meets) when convenient for them, and you can talk about the class together when you can. It’s yet another experiment in the possibilities that the digital revolution makes possible.

To take advantage of this opportunity, your chosen friend can use the code we will email you after successfully registering when they check out to claim their free registration.

Your friend does need to register for the same class you are taking. When they register, they will be asked to let us know who their study partner is.

This shouldn’t be a source of stress for you – you’re under no obligation to set up meetings with your study partner or anything like that, but of course you can if you want to; it’s all part of the experiment to see what happens naturally, and we hope you’ll keep us posted.
