Liz Fisher: Judaism Unbound Episode 255 - Amplification

Liz Fisher is the Executive Director of Amplifier@JFNA, an organization devoted to "igniting, strengthening, and informing giving to transform and grow philanthropy." She joins Dan Libenson and Lex Rofeberg for a conversation about giving circles, and in particular what potential they have to contribute (pun intended!) to important shifts in Jewish philanthropy.

[2] Would you be interested in being part of a giving circle consisting of Judaism Unbound listeners? We’re considering pursuing that! Send us a note at Dan@JudaismUnbound.com or Lex@JudaismUnbound.com if you’d like to be notified about any developments related to this idea (or if you've got ideas of your own for how this could look).

[3] Fisher mentions The Community Investment Network, a network of giving circles led by and for African-Americans and communities of color. Learn more about their work at TheCommunityInvestment.org.

[4] Fisher responds to Dan and Lex, at one point, by encouraging us, if starting our own giving circles, to “start with why.” For a talk emphasizing the importance, in general, of “starting with why,” see this talk by Simon Sinek.

[5] Learn more about Amplifier’s “Giving Panorama,” which Fisher references, at this link. Learn how you can organize a “Pop-Up Giving Circle” (a giving circle taking place from start to finish in 90 minutes!) by clicking here.
